Usage policy

Last updated: September 7, 2026 · Version 2026-09-07.2

1. About this policy

This Usage Policy governs your use of Notes at notes.cuscad.com, including its document workspaces, collaboration features, and public pages (the “Service”). The Service is operated by Cuscad Software LLC (“Cuscad,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). “You” means the person using the Service or, where you are authorized to act for an organization, that organization.

By accepting this policy during registration, you agree to follow these rules. You must have the legal capacity to accept them and any permissions required to use the Service on behalf of someone else. These rules also apply to content you publish and activity you authorize through your account.

2. Accounts and security

Provide accurate registration information and use an email address you control. Protect your credentials and take reasonable steps to prevent unauthorized use of your account. Do not use another person’s account without permission or misrepresent your identity or authority.

Use individual accounts and workspace permissions when collaborating. Choose a unique password, protect access to your email account, and sign out on shared devices. Verification and password-reset links are private credentials: do not publish or forward them.

3. Your content and permissions

You retain ownership of the notes, documents, and other material you provide. You are responsible for having the rights and permissions needed to store, use, and share that material through the Service.

You authorize Cuscad to store, reproduce, transmit, and display your content only as needed to operate the Service, maintain it, and carry out your sharing instructions. This permission does not transfer ownership of your content to Cuscad.

Do not submit information that you are prohibited from sharing or entrust to the Service without first obtaining the necessary authorization. You are responsible for assessing whether the Service is appropriate for your information and obligations.

4. Workspaces and public links

Review membership and access permissions before sharing a workspace. People with editing or management permissions may change content or access within the permissions granted to them.

When you enable public access, people outside your workspace may view the published content. A link can be forwarded, and recipients may save copies. Disabling access does not recall copies already obtained by others. Do not treat a public link as a confidentiality measure.

5. Prohibited use

You must not use the Service, or assist anyone else in using it, to:

6. Account-related email

We use your registration email to send account verification messages and password-reset messages you request. These messages support access to and security of your account. You must not trigger account emails to harass another person or use an address you do not control.

Acceptance of this policy is not consent to advertising or marketing subscriptions. If you receive a verification or reset message that you did not request, do not share or use the link.

7. Availability and safeguarding your work

Notes is a document workspace. Maintenance, network failures, and changes to the Service may interrupt access or synchronization. Keep independent copies of important work and confirm that recent changes have synchronized before clearing browser data or moving to another device.

Use the Service within its available features and limits. Do not rely on it as the sole record for information whose loss could cause serious harm or as an emergency communication system. Nothing in this policy excludes rights or protections that applicable law does not allow us to exclude.

8. Violations and restrictions

Cuscad may restrict activity, disable public access to content, or suspend access to an account when reasonably necessary to address a violation, protect users or the Service, or comply with law. The action taken will depend on the nature, severity, and recurrence of the issue.

Where reasonably practicable, we will explain the restriction and allow you to respond or correct the issue. Immediate action may be necessary where there is a security risk, serious abuse, or a legal restriction on notice. Do not create replacement accounts or use other people’s accounts to evade a restriction.

9. Changes to this policy

We may revise this policy as the Service changes or to address legal, security, or operational needs. The current policy and its revision date will be published on this page. Material changes will be communicated through an appropriate notice, and we will request renewed agreement where required by applicable law.

A revision does not retroactively change the rules applicable to earlier conduct. If you do not agree to the rules governing future use, you should stop using the Service.

10. Contact and reports

For questions about this policy, reports of misuse, or a request to review an account restriction, contact Cuscad Software LLC at [email protected].

Include the relevant page URL or account email, a description of the issue, and enough information for us to understand your concern. Do not send passwords, verification links, or unnecessary personal information. Make reports honestly and do not use the reporting process to harass others.
